- The Story of Jennifer’s Career
- Learning from Others
- Being Part of an In-House Agency
How do you push yourself past the comfort zone?
I highly rely on others. I find the experts. I interview them and I learn from them. I continued to excel within the organization and take on more senior leadership roles that became more important. When I moved into digital marketing, I went out and interviewed every individual that was on the team at that time and asked them, “what do you do?”, “why do you do it?”, “what are we trying to achieve?, “how do we measure success?”, “what are other organizations doing that you believe are best practice?” I also did a ton of reading and studying but it really comes down to learning from others.
How have you seen digital marketing change over time?
It’s changed tremendously and it continues to change at such a rapid pace. When I started in 2008, we didn’t know what to do, nobody did. We tried things to see what stuck. That was my strategy. We’re still testing, learning and adjusting, even now. This is what’s required for success. Over time, our strategy has changed and has continued to evolve. We continually work towards achieving that personalized experience.
